NSW Driver Knowledge Test (DKT) FAQs
- 45 questions, drawn from the official question bank. You must answer at least 41 correctly (91%) to pass.
- 45 minutes — but most candidates finish in under 25 minutes. There is no time pressure if you know the material.
- Yes — NSW now offers the DKT online via the Service NSW app and website. You can also book to take it at a Service NSW service centre.
- $50 to take. Free retake within 14 days if you fail the first time.
- Valid photo ID — passport, citizenship document, or interim driver/learner permit. The full list is on the Service NSW website.
