Who has to do the Safer Drivers Course?

It's mandatory for learner drivers under 25 in NSW (P1/P2 graduation requires it). Optional for over-25s.

The course fee is set by the NSW government at $140 (concession $115). We run it at the standard rate.

How do I prove I've done it?

Your facilitator submits the completion electronically to Transport for NSW within 5 business days. The 20-hour credit appears automatically on your logbook.

Can I do the SDC if I'm over 25?

Yes — many over-25 learners take it for the practical content, even though it doesn't apply to their hour requirements.

Complete 50 logbook hours first
SDC eligibility requires 50 hours already logged. We can help you book the right time.

Attend the 3-hour discussion module
Group of 6–12 learners, run by an accredited SDC facilitator. Topics: hazard perception, peer pressure, fatigue, risk assessment.

Take the in-car coaching session
2 hours, 1-on-1 with an SDC-qualified instructor (often one of our team). Lower-pressure than a regular lesson — coaching style, not teaching style.
